About us

Support that fits the person, not the roster

Soda Care is a Victorian disability and community support provider based in South Yarra. We work with NDIS participants across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria — in their homes, in their communities and wherever they want to be.

Our story

Why we started Soda Care

Soda Care was built on a straightforward observation: most complaints about disability support are not about the quality of care people receive when a worker turns up. They are about workers who do not turn up, workers who change every fortnight, and coordinators who cannot be reached when something goes wrong.

So we designed the business around the three things that actually determine whether support works — consistency, matching and communication. We keep our participant-to-coordinator ratios deliberately low. We introduce workers before their first shift. And we treat a roster change as something to be agreed with you, not announced to you.

We are named for the idea that good support should lift you — a bit of fizz, not a flat week.

Our values

Six things we will not compromise on

Choice and control

You decide who supports you, when, and how. If a worker is not the right fit, say so — changing them is a normal request, not a complaint.

Dignity of risk

Growth means trying things. We support people to take considered risks and learn, rather than defaulting to whatever is easiest to supervise.

Consistency

The same small team wherever possible. Nobody should have to re-explain their routine, their history or their preferences every week.

Straight answers

Plain English about what a support costs, what your plan covers and what we cannot do. No jargon, no vague quotes, no surprises on the invoice.

Safety and safeguarding

Screened, trained, supervised workers and a complaints process that is easy to use and genuinely acted on.

Cultural safety

Interpreters, culturally and linguistically matched workers, and respect for the traditions and observances that matter in your home.

Our approach

How we build your supports

Every person we work with gets an individual support plan that starts from their NDIS goals and their own words about what a good week looks like. That plan sets out the practical detail — who supports you, at what times, doing what, and what to do if something changes.

We review it with you regularly and always ahead of a plan reassessment, so the evidence about what is working is ready when you need it.

Where you need supports we do not deliver ourselves — therapy, plan management, specialist equipment — we will say so and help you find someone good.

Quality & safeguarding

How we keep supports safe

Working in someone's home is a position of trust. These are the checks and systems behind every shift.

Before a worker starts

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (Victoria) clearance verified — no clearance, no shift
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module completed
  • Working with Children Check where relevant
  • Identity, work rights and qualification verification
  • Reference checks with previous employers
  • Induction covering the NDIS Code of Conduct, incident reporting and participant rights

While supports are running

  • Documented support plans and risk assessments
  • Shift notes reviewed by a coordinator
  • Incident and near-miss reporting with follow-up actions
  • Restrictive practice-free approach and positive behaviour support where authorised
  • Regular supervision, training and refresher requirements
  • An easy-to-use feedback and complaints process

You can always go outside Soda Care

If you are not satisfied with how we handle a concern, you can contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544 or at ndiscommission.gov.au at any time. You do not need to tell us first, and we will never treat you differently for doing so.
